New Partnership for Chicago!

Medals4Mettle Chicago Chapter is proud to announce a new partnership with Crush Multisport, Chicago's only All-Inclusive Endurance Sport Social Club! By working together, Crush and M4M Chicago will create more opportunities to gift medals to worthy recipients through Crush Multisport's existing partner charities.

I am personally really excited about this opportunity and love what Crush has to offer.  You can join the club for a small yearly fee and you get coupon codes for discounts on local races and fee socials.  It seriously pays for itself if you race 2-3 of their tris a year! Check them out!

• Allow fellow Chicago triathletes to find one another... and their blogs
• Create a section of race reviews specific to the Chicago/Midwest area
• Share coupon codes if people know of them... as we all know, tris and gear can be pricey
• Highlight bloggers with guest posts (from newbie to pro topics)
• and hopefully much more as the blog evolves!

Repeat Donation

Chicago is excited to be working with Mercy Home for Boys & Girls to donate 25 medals to them!  This will be the second time we have worked with Mercy Home.  The administrators use the medals for rewards for academics or athletics and had great feedback from the kids last year.  Honored when we are able to donate to a group more than once as it is a great testimony of the value of the medals and how they can inspire others!

Relay for Life

Eileen with the Chicago Chapter was able to present medals to Cancer Survivors that were participating in Relay for Life in Evergreen Park.  (Relay for Life is a relay fundraiser for the American Cancer Society that begins with Survivors starting the event!)  Sadly, I was on vacation and not able to attend but it appears there was a great turnout and wonderful reception of the medals.

New Partnership for Chicago Chapter

Excited to announce, Eileen Rowan, will be working with the Chicago Chapter and their medal gifting efforts.  Eileen has been part of the running community for a while and read the Runner's World article about M4M and wanted to help.  She already has two events in the works!  Palos Heights Half Marathon where there will be a M4M table and Relay for Life in July.   Welcome aboard Eileen!

M4M Central Illinois received over 50 marathon finisher medals from super runner John Wayne Lui. What's incredible is he ran them all in 2011! That's right 52 marathons in a year and John is fast too (3:15-3:30)! With only 7 states remaining, looks like he will become a 50 State Marathon Finisher in 2012. On behalf of everyone at M4M, thanks John Wayne Lui! See you in Little Rock!

Goofy!!!

We are really lucky to have awesome donors to our charity. I have 3 Goofy Medals i have been holding onto for just the right people. To get a Goofy Disney race medal, you run a half and full marathon in two days!

So, when i got to know Mya from my son's school and learned her favorite character was goofy, i knew i have found an extremely worthy recipient. Mya is blind along with other disabilities and is a fighter. She has an aid that helps her through public school and is such a sweet spirit. The medal has great grooves and detail which she loved to feel and like the silky ribbon! I was really grateful to be able to present this to her.
